Helen Clark

Chair of Governors

Helen has been a governor at Exeter School since March 2011. She is Chair of the Junior School Committee and sits on the Welfare and Safeguarding Committee.

Helen is an outdoor pursuits expert who has represented The Ski Club of Great Britain in Austria, France and Italy and for 3 years was an elected member of their Council. Having qualified as a British Ski Instructor, she taught skiing in Aviemore and led and instructed Ski Club of Great Britain parties for adult and teenage groups in the Alps.

She has also worked for ten years in The Royal Household for The Prince and Princess of Wales and later in The Queen’s Press Office.

Since 2007, Helen has assisted with Exeter School’s Ten Tors training and is a qualified Walking Group Leader.

Helen and her husband Tony have a son and daughter formerly at the School, the latter of whom was Head Girl. Helen and Tony, a Parachute Regiment Officer who was latterly Commandant of the Dartmoor Training Area until his retirement in 2011, live on and manage a smallholding on the edge of Dartmoor.
