BA (Hons) PGCE

Debbie joined The New School in September 2019, having previously taught in Key Stage 1 at Exminster Community Primary School. Debbie teaches Year 2 on Thursdays and Fridays and is the subject leader for Art, DT and Computing across the school. Prior to her teaching career, she was an accomplished children’s book illustrator, with over thirty titles published under her maiden name, Tarbett. Two of her books won Practical Pre-School Gold Awards. She has also worked as a Lead Background Artist for the animation company King Rollo Films Ltd; productions included Spot the Dog, Elmer, Mr Benn, Anytime Tales and the BAFTA-winning Maisy series. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, cycling and walking her two dogs, Ziggy and Fudge.
